It became a major export product from Norway, and continues to be made today.
It cuts thick slices (about 3mm), and tends to tear up the cheese, even in the harder cheese that this model was apparently designed for. It does perform better than a cheap generic model, but not enough. Unfortunately I would not recommend this particular Bjorklund cheese slicer, although I would not generalize this to their other models.
